Cultivation
Pre-sprouting (chitting) or a temperature shock is necessary in order to get a fast initial development. De-sprouting should be avoided. Planting distance at tuber size 35/55mm is about 30cm (45,000 plants per Ha). Tubers tend to grow large so it is important to ensure proper ridging. Use of Sencorex can cause some foliar
discolouration but should not affect yield. Initial development can be slow but further development in good. Estima is slightly sensitive to harvest damage and bruising.

Fertiliser treatment suggestions
The recommendation for Nitrogen application is slightly above standard. Additional Potassium application is not necessary.

Storage
Estima has a good dormancy and therefore can be stored for long periods at 5C.

Resistance
Estima is rather susceptible to Powdery Scab, Common Scab and both Foliage and Tuber Blight. Resistance to Viruses A and Yntn is good. Estima is resistant to Wart Disease Fysio 1, but susceptible to PCN.
