Paradiso is a cross between two existing varieties. The mother variety, Rodeo, is a descendant of the variety Mondial, which originates from Spunta. The father plant, Valor, originates from the Irish variety Cara. This origin suggests that Paradiso has good yield potential. In addition, the positive traits of a long tuber shape and a clear skin are combined in this variety. Paradiso is an early maincrop with large growing tubers with an excellent yield for the traditional market.

Twister is a cross between AR 01-3104 with Zafira as the father. In both breeding lines, many old AR varieties are used as the parent, such as Armundo, Arielle, Venouska and Vokal. A gene is bred in on the mother plant’s side for resistance to late blight (Phytophthora), with a similar background to the variety Carolus. The variety was selected through the part of the selection program known as the ‘BioSelect route’. In other words: predominantly on trial fields located at organic growers. Twister has therefore been introduced to the market as a variety that can also be grown organically. Do you want to know more about BioSelect?
