Agrico Ukraine destroyed by Russian drones

In the night of 25th to 26th of May part of the farm from Agrico Ukraine was hit by Russian drones. Our potato storage, grading area and vital infrastructure were burned to the ground. But most importantly; nobody was hurt, says Nick Gordiichuk, Director of Agrico Ukraine. ‘We are thankful for that.’

The damage is huge: over 1,500 boxes are lost. The tractors and sprayers are destroyed. Machinery is charred, buildings are flattened.

This was not a strike on military infrastructure, says Gordiichuk. ‘This was an attack on food. On farmers. On civilians. Russia is trying to break the spirit of those who grow, feed and build.’

But, follows a militant Gordiichuk, ‘They can burn our buildings, but they will never burn our will. We will rebuild. We will keep farming. We will keep feeding people. We will keep fighting for our freedom.’

Agrico Ukraine is the market leader in seed potatoes in Ukraine and has been a representative of Agrico NL for almost 20 years. Agrico Ukraine focuses on potato production and education for Ukrainian farmers. There is a steady demand for potatoes in Ukraine, potato is a strategically important crop.
