Polish summer of meetings

This summer was a time of meetings for Agrico Polska. Meetings with colleagues, clients, producers and consumers. In this report you will find a summary of all these meetings.
Annual meeting
In early July, we organized our annual meeting to summarize the past season for all our current and potential new producers. This year, we met at a picturesquely situated hotel on the Vistula River, Poland's longest river. From noon, participants attended lectures on topics closely related to seed potatoes. Speakers included experts from the Seed Inspection Service on protecting plantations from bacterial blight, a representative from Royal Crop on soil testing, and Dr. Tomasz Erlichowski from the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute in Bonin on the current situation of seed potatoes in the field.
A keynote address from Maarten Vossen was a fascinating one. He spoke to us and our guests about the art of potato breeding, the process of creating and implementing new varieties. Finally, President of the Management Board, Diarmid Johnston, spoke and summarized the entire past season. After the official portion, it was time for a gala dinner and musical entertainment. The casino, an attraction prepared for our guests, undoubtedly proved very popular.
National Potato Days
At the end of August, a large, nationwide event for all potato lovers and supporters took place. It was the National Potato Days, this year held in Potęgowo, very close to our office. Over the course of two days, we met with many of our clients, producers, and contractors from the potato industry. The entire Agrico Polska team was involved in the preparations and work at our stand. We consider the fair a great success; it not only promoted our company and our varieties, but also provided an opportunity to establish relationships and collaborate with new partners. We eagerly await next year's edition.
Meeting with Central Europe
In mid-September, the first such meeting, titled Central Europe, took place. This year, it was held in Poland, and we were delighted to host representatives from the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Serbia. Participants learned about the Polish ware and seed potato market, consumer preferences, and their operational strategies. Ten potato varieties from various market segments were planted in the field.
The meeting provided an opportunity for growers from Central and Eastern Europe to exchange experiences, helped them understand the specifics of trade in this part of Europe, and helped build long-term relationships with participants. We hope to meet again next year in an even larger group.
Demonstration plots
Agrico Polska spends the entire summer promoting our seed potatoes by organizing demonstration plots for our clients. Every year, we meet in at least several locations across the country. This is a time for meetings, conversations, and exchange of information with our clients. Although the weather is sometimes unfavorable, we are often surprised by the high turnout.
Taking samples
Our technical department is very busy during the summer, mostly working in the field taking samples. Samples are collected from all our producers, from all plantations. It's a lot of work, but it gives us a preliminary idea of the yield we can obtain. This is very valuable information, based on which we can plan the sale of our seed potatoes. The photos show our newest varieties, the trials of which are very promising.
